"The Nature Of Relationships" is a course that goes right to the heart of Voice Dialogue work and relationships are right at the heart of our lives.  We welcome your participation in this training as we explore:

  • Creating a new and balanced form of intimacy through the Aware Ego
  • Understanding judgment as a key to relationship and personal growth
  • Connection from Aware Ego to the vulnerable selves as an essential aspect of successful relationship
  • Bonding Patterns - understanding dynamics of power and vulnerability in all relationships
  • Mastering the energetic aspect of relationship - holding linkage with couples and groups
  • Voice Dialogue approaches to facilitating couples
  • The inside-out rule: how our inner relationship to our selves mirrors our outer relationships
  • Relationship as teacher - how our selves evolve in relationship
  • Transference and countertransference - bonding patterns in professional relationships

Voice Dialogue offers entirely new ways of looking at relationships: our relationships with the world, our families, our partners, and ourselves. What we've ordinarily thought of as a simple interaction between two people becomes an intricate energetic "dance" between a multitude of inner selves. Where we were stuck in old patterns of interaction, the Aware Ego process allows us the possibility of holding power and vulnerability in balance, creating better boundaries, and deepening intimacy.

Voice Dialogue also gives us a new understanding of what makes relationship alive and vital – linkage.  So often the spark goes out of relationship because the parts of us that naturally connect with others have taken a back seat and now powerful primary selves, that have no capability for or interest in connecting, have taken over running our relationships, deciding what works and what doesn't. These selves are often in the "business" of managing our families and finances, directing our search for a partner, controlling our behavior, but they don't actually do relationship – they don't link. While these primary selves are an important part of our lives and are trying to protect us, they fundamentally don't know how to be in relationship. What an extraordinary paradox.

As a graduate of the Voice Dialogue facilitator's training, you are invited to participate in an advanced course in Voice Dialogue facilitation focusing on relationship. In "The Nature of Relationship" course we'll be working with two keys to transforming relationship: finding the "gold" in our judgments of others and developing a deep relationship to vulnerability from Aware Ego. Another important focus in Voice Dialogue relationship work is making the energetic aspect of relationship conscious so that we can connect and disconnect from others gracefully and with choice. This is the all time favorite training that we have ever offered. Everyone who has participated in this course so far has reported that it has made a huge change in their relationships – relationships of all kinds, both personal and professional.

In addition to personal benefit, "The Nature Of Relationships" will take your training to a much deeper level of working with Voice Dialogue in your professional practice.  Whether you are a therapist working with couples or families, a coach or teacher working with groups, a mediator, a business manager, a health care professional, or anyone in the "business" of working with people, this training will help you to hold energetic connection with more than one person at a time while helping them to untangle the energetic complexity of their relationship dynamic with each other. The course will include Voice Dialogue approaches to working with people in relationship (couples, business partners, siblings, etc.), with specific exercises that we can use with our clients. This will include learning the basics of diagramming positive and negative bonding patterns which in itself offers a core understanding of the dynamics of relationship. It will help us to identify the primary and disowned selves and the underlying vulnerabilities in any relationship situation. We'll also look at transference and counter-transference in the light of positive and negative bonding patterns between professional and client.

"The Nature Of Relationships" training is offered once a year and is available if you have completed either the facilitator's training or a Voice Dialogue Level I training (or equivalent) with another teacher.  There are 36 class hours over 3 weekends, and the cost is less than the basic facilitator's training because our advertising costs are lower and we pass that savings on to you.
